SocialNewsDesk Earns National Recognition as a Fast Growing Startup

SocialNewsDesk, a longtime 352 partner, is off to its strongest year ever, receiving accolades from four groups in 2014, including Facebook. Last month, SocialNewsDesk was named a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD), joining fewer than 250 companies world-wide that have earned a place in the program.

Acceptance into Facebook’s PMD program has been a long-standing goal for SocialNewsDesk founder, Kim Wilson, who said the highly selective application process requires someone within Facebook to recommend a company for consideration. SocialNewsDesk is one of a handful of female-founded PMD companies.

“We rely on our users for feedback, feature ideas and to keep pushing us to the next level,” Wilson said. “The PMD certification coupled with the recognition from other groups will give us even more room to grow and innovate for our newsroom and media clients.”

In addition to the PMD recognition, SocialNewsDesk is being recognized for its accomplishments as a startup in 2014. It was named one of eight featured startups by the Newspaper Association of America’s mediaXchange program. SocialNewsDesk is also one of four companies featured in the “New Idea Showcase” at the Digital Strategies Exchange for Radio NAB. Additionally, it was named one of the National Association of Broadcaster’s Sprockit Startups.

SocialNewsDesk is the solution for any newsroom or media professional who has struggled to manage social within the newsroom and among employees. More than 600 newsrooms in the US and Canada use this web-based dashboard.

SocialNewsDesk aggregates the data from multiple social media accounts of newsrooms, their anchors and special programs into a dashboard where the accounts can be managed, controlled and analyzed in one place. Currently about 13,000 social posts are made via SocialNewsDesk every day or 14,750,000 annually.

This year, SocialNewsDesk users can look forward to expanded dashboard tools such as streamlined breaking news reporting and competitive landscape analysis offering newsrooms even more social reach.
