Electronics Manufacturer to Release Invisible TV!

TV’s have shrunk to be slimmer and slimmer over the years, and now I’ve got word from a source within a major television manufacturer that we can expect the release of a new television so skinny that you can’t even see it.  Retail prices should be around $1,000 for the 42″ model, which is also weightless.

For now, we’ll have to settle for Sony’s new OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) model.  The 3 millimeter screen debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas this week.  In addition to the slim design, the TV’s will appeal to people like my wife who resolved to be greener in ’08.  It uses 40% less energy than its LCD counterparts!  And the resolution?  Even better, since it uses no backlighting.  That means it can reach contrast ratios of 1,000,000:1.

My question is how do you plug it in?  I mean, i know the standard power plug goes about a half inch in to the television on my Plasma at home.  One a 3mm screen, how can you do that?  Maybe it goes in to the clunky base.  I’ll have to see that one firsthand.
