Everybody makes mistakes

Mistakes happen. We can reduce the odds, though.

For website owners, reducing the odds of mistakes could mean: -Create an alert in the admin section of Google Analytics to let you know if traffic or conversions drop off. -Use your website on occasion. Looking at pages and click on stuff. -Have someone responsible for the website. (Can’t emphasize this enough. If it’s everyone’s responsibility, it’s no one’s responsibility.) -Make it clear in your organization to whom errors should be reported. -Check out your Google or Bing webmaster tools, and let them point out the errors they’ve found. -Use periodically an on-demand crawler like Screaming Frog or Xenu. -Check your logs. (We use elmah.) -Make an update. Check your work. Photo Credit: darkmatter via Compfight cc
