It's That Time Again: The Race to 3:52 Hackathon is Back!

Earlier this year, we held a Hackathon to kickstart our transition to the MEAN stack and other new technologies, but next week we’re kicking that into overdrive with our annual Race to 3:52. Last year our teams created more than a dozen unique tools and digital experiences, many of which are still in use today.

This year, we’re taking things a step farther. We challenged our teams to create a marketable digital product within a week – and we’ll be offering $10,000 in prizes to the winners.

Why We Race

The Race to 3:52 is an annual tradition for us, and it’s always helped bring us together as a company. For a full week, we step back from client work to focus on projects that excite us. We bring our three offices together in Gainesville to learn from each other, make new connections across teams and to build amazing products.

For the first three days of the week, our development teams, marketers and UX designers will work together in their home offices before we all get together for two final days of hacking and learning as we race to 3:52 p.m. on Saturday, where each team will reveal their product and the winner will be announced.

Guest speakers like Carl Smith, founder of nGen Works, and Jen Dary, founder of Plucky, will be on hand to drop some knowledge when everyone’s hands start cramping from too much coding.

The Hackathon

This year, we have nine teams working on 9 projects – all to be completed and ready to launch by 3:52 p.m. on Saturday, August 2. And you can bet we’re excited.

Follow along at @352inc and #raceto352 to see what our teams are working on, and don’t hesitate to jump into the conversation!
