Cummins Engines needed a future-ready site, fast.

In 2013, we built a fully responsive version of CumminsEngines.com, the customer-facing marketing website of the engine business of Cummins Inc., the Fortune 500 company that designs, manufactures and distributes diesel engines and related technologies. In just six weeks, we built a fully functional site geared toward new customer acquisition and sales.

Cummins produces hundreds of engine lines, for dozens of industries around the world – from pickup trucks and mining equipment to generators and locomotives. In order to build a site that met the needs of its diverse audience, we conducted more than 20 stakeholder interviews and combed through more than 1,000 user surveys.

This intensive audit set the stage for our rapid 6-week sprint:

1. Streamline confusing navigation
2. Modernize design and content for mobile users
3. Improve site architecture to reduce page-load times
4. Design a pleasant content scheme

These four goals resulted in a simplified navigation architecture that made it easy for Cummins enthusiasts to find the perfect engine. In just 3 months after our first sprint, CumminsEngines.com saw dramatic improvements in traffic, conversions and performance. This success laid the groundwork for three years of trusted partnership in web development, user experience and digital marketing.
